Current New Visions students and teachers will be visiting 11th grade classes at area high schools during February and early March. We will have applications and can tell you more about the programs.

How to apply to either New Visions program:

1. See your guidance counselor in February or early March to pick up a brochure and application. Completed applications are due to your guidance counselor by Friday, March 27, 2009.

2. The application process includes a written application (Download application and application supplement); an essay on a provided topic relating to the program's focus;  letters of recommendation from an English teacher, your guidance counselor, and one other academic subject teacher; an  interview with two professionals.

3. In addition, you should have strong grades, with an average of at least 85% and no grade below 80%. Applicants must have completed all Regents requirements for graduation, and must have completed Regents Math B and three years of Regents science and English by the end of junior year.

4. Plan on attending one of our Open Houses in March. Parents & guardians are welcome, too! Meet the teachers and current students and tour our facilities.

  • Health Sciences: Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Cayuga Medical Center, Howell Education Center (second floor), 7-9 PM
  • Life Sciences: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Guterman Lab, Cornell University, 7-9 PM

5. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by early May.
